Another year passes and so the struggle for gender equality continues.  As a mother, I truly feel the burn of the pay gap that taking time off to have children has created in addition to the general pay inequality. As a result, I continue to build my work and study portfolio to combat this with as little cost to my family as I can.

I acknowledge this post is lacking of the comparisons of 20 years ago to now, detailing those things that have changed versus those which have not for women over the years.  Instead of plying you with this data, I am sitting tight at University, trying to be focussed on getting out the other side of my course of study. Huzzah!

The upside to my life now though, compared to the past, is that I am undertaking my career and personal development in partnership with someone awesome who supports me in this goal and, by gosh, I wish him equality in life expectancy. 🙂  Happy International Women’s Day!
